Lois Amsel Jarman

Lois Jarman Lois Amsel Jarman is the author of the Gisela, Adele, Isabelle, and Gevrehan series as well as the creator of Medieval Maidens. Her books have been awarded educational/historical Book of the Year and as well as the Preferred Choice Award by Creative Child Magazine. She began Medieval Maidens in 2006 as a way to teach children about the Middle Ages. Lois has also developed a reading curriculum for the books, which are used in after school reading programs and Girl Scout Groups.

In addition to her work with Medieval Maidens, she is also the education blogger for Want2Dish, writes the monthly Empty Nest column for the Frederick News Post, and blogs at Mom’s Ponderings.

Lois holds a Master’s in Humanities with a concentration in Medieval Studies and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Second Language Acquisition. She has worked in education since 1997, and currently teaches history and foreign language. A mother of two, she spent much time reading with her children as they were growing up, and she hopes to afford other parents that opportunity with their own children through Medieval Maidens. Lois lives in Maryland with her husband and a menagerie of pets.

Tiffany Jarman JansenTiffany Jansen, born and raised in the USA, now lives in the Netherlands where she works as a freelance writer and theater teacher. She holds a BA in Musical Theater from The American University.

She has written for WOW: Women on Writing, Amsterdam City Tours, the WM Freelance Connection, ACCESS Magazine, The Holland Times, Cynic Online Magazine, and The Xpat Journal.

Her books, Mary’s Story and Mary’s Holiday Story, were named Creative Child Magazine’s 2011 “Book of the Year” in the educational and history books category. In 2007 and 2008, Tiffany portrayed Henry VIII’s 5th wife Katherine Howard at the Maryland Renaissance Festival.
